American Egg Board, Rose Acre Farms and Midwest Food Bank partner to donate eggs to families in need after disaster

HATCH and the American Egg Board are creating a reliable pathway to fresh eggs in the wake of Hurricane Idalia by joining organizations across the protein supply chain to deliver eggs to families affected by the disaster. With participation from Rose Acre Farms and Midwest Food Bank, HATCH and partners are donating more than 600,000 eggs to neighbors in need across Florida.

“In our role as a connector of the protein supply chain, we’re constantly working with incredible organizations that will go out of their way to make sure people have access to fresh, nutritious food no matter their circumstances,” said Danny Leckie, Executive Director of HATCH. “When the opportunity arose to get eggs to Floridians who have been affected by the disaster, both Rose Acre and Midwest Food Bank jumped in with both feet. We’re so grateful for their partnership and truly could not do this without them.”

Currently, all eggs are being donated through Rose Acre Farms, who will deliver them to Midwest Food Bank in Ft. Myer’s. Midwest will work with their agency partners in the Big Bend area to deliver to disaster relief sites across the region. Many Rose Acre partners have already donated to fill a truckload, including:

  • Madison Chemical
  • B&H Electric
  • Tekni-Plex
